Ilias Alevizos, D.M.D., M.H.S., Ph.D., is a biopharmaceutical leader with a distinguished record advancing global clinical development and immunology innovation. He trained at Tufts, Harvard, MIT, Duke, and the University of Athens, and is recognized for uniting mechanistic science, clinical strategy, and organizational leadership to deliver high‑impact therapeutic innovation. Dr Alevizos held senior leadership roles at GSK, Amgen, Horizon Therapeutics, and Viela Bio, serving as Global Development Lead and overseeing integrated development plans, regulatory strategy, and pivotal trial execution for first‑in‑class immunology programs. His industry leadership is grounded in more than a decade at the National Institutes of Health, where he directed the Sjögren’s Syndrome Clinic at NIDCR and led pioneering translational research on noncoding RNAs, salivary gland dysfunction, and autoimmune pathophysiology.
